Increased demands
The development of larger ships, an increase in the number of ship movements, drilling for oil at greater depths and the development of offshore windfarms puts pressure on the safety of both people and environment. Improved safety requires one to be able to transform depth measurements very rapidly into detailed and current hydrographic and nautical information and products.
SENS: A revolution in hydrographic software
Spatial Enterprise Nautical Solutions (SENS) fulfils these requirements in a revolutionary manner. The product distinguishes itself by storing individual depth measurements, related metadata and objects (buoys, bridges, wrecks etc) directly in the database. SENS makes it possible, as first solution in the world, to always have immediate access to the best hydrographic data for any selected area. This is independent of the type of user or type of end product.
Virtual Continuous Model
On the basis of criteria for a variety of different products and different user needs, depth measurements are selected in real time from overlapping bathymetric surveys and merged to form a single coherent whole. This is the Virtual Continuous Model © (VCM©). Patent is pending for this unique innovative solution.
Hands-off production
VCM© makes it possible to extensively automate the production process for various hydrographic products such as ENC's and paper charts. The products are managed in the SENS Product Centre, so that a precise record is maintained of which product was produced when, by whom, and in what manner.
Web-enabled
Alle data and products can be made available via the Internet. They can also be integrated with data from other parties. This is done using OGC Webservices and in conformance with the INSPIRE guidelines of the European Union.
